About Us

Help MAS Dogs (HMD) Citizen Initiative is small informal group of ordinary citizens that strives to help the dogs impounded at the Mandaluyong government pound. Our focus is on ensuring that the dogs are fed, hydrated, and their living spaces cleaned on weekend and holiday mornings. Our efforts also include rehabilitating dogs that have been spared from death row for eventual adoption. However, without adoptions, we are unable to pull out more dogs.
To help us serve the dogs efficiently, please note that we operate entirely as an independent online advocate group.
-
We are NOT the official Mandaluyong City Pound. We do not control their policies, intake, or schedules.
-
We are NOT an official NGO, registered rescue organization, or animal shelter. We cannot physically rescue or intake surrendered pets.
-
We are NOT a veterinary clinic or a pet cremation service.
Whether you are looking to adopt a dog in Mandaluyong, want to volunteer your time online, or wish to help coordinate aid for impounded animals, you are in the right place. Together, we can give these dogs a fighting chance.
Our Work
-
Essential Care: We ensure the dogs are fed, hydrated, and their cages are cleaned on weekend and holiday mornings.
-
Dog Adoption & Rehab: We rehabilitate dogs saved from death row to prepare them for adoption. We rely entirely on adoptions to free up space and save more dogs.
-
Independent Coordination: We independently manage all volunteer efforts, adoption screenings, and donation appeals on behalf of the dogs.
It's crucial to clarify that HMD and MAS operate independently. HMD is a grassroots initiative led by concerned citizens, separate from MAS or pound staff. MAS does not operate a volunteer program, and its animal control personnel do not oversee volunteer activities or adoption procedures. Instead, HMD coordinates volunteering efforts, rehabilitation, adoption screening, and handles donation appeals on behalf of the dogs.
